In the physical realm, I am Rebecca Strang. In gaming realms, I am the blue meeple (board and card games). Or Mistress Nightfury (various video/digital gaming platforms). Or Peke (World of Warcraft).
I am a Digital Media student at Loyola University Chicago‘s School of Communication (SOC) and a Research Assistant at the SOC’s SIMLab. I am interested in games and the people who make and play them. Specifically, I am interested in gender studies within gaming AND how games are used as tools of communication and community building. I strive to advocate for inclusivity in games.
I am a gamer. I play computer games and board games, though board games are getting much more of my time these days. My office is in the best room in the house: the game room. My husband, Greg, and I are continually building our gaming sanctuary.
Other hobbies include reading and collecting beautiful books.
I enjoy dressing up for 1920s parties and renaissance faires.
I am a cat lover. Greg and I serve four adorable cats who own us completely: Franklin, Charlotte, Aurora, and Nox.
